Leaders – Entrepreneurs: time to Think and Do Differently

By admin

Over the weekend a colleague of mine told me a story about this professor who was swimming au naturel in the sea.

As he was making his way back to his clothes, to his horror he spotted a group of students coming his way on a boat.

He grabbed his towel….what did he do next?

Put the towel over his face! Good ..different thinking!

In 1991 in Vancouver, Howard Schultz decided to do the unthinkable, and open a new coffee shop across the road from one of its most profitable Starbuck’s outlets. It was a massive success.

What is not so unimaginable, yet must be enshrined into every company culture is the following motto – change when you are ahead. If you dont, you will be soon out of business.

So the message is clear for entrepreneurs, leaders – think and do differently today!

The clock is ticking!

By admin

If your life span is 80 years from birth to death, you have approximately 2,522,880,000 seconds to live.

Since you started reading this paragraph, you have used up about 20 of them.

If you go back and check how long it took you to read the paragraph you will use up another 20. Tonight, you will spend 86,400 of your precious seconds asleep.

In fact, assuming you sleep 8 hours a night, you will be unconscious for 1/3 of your life.

The clock is ticking.

How are long are you going to wait to start living the life of your dreams?

When you reach the end of your time death is waiting for you. That is a certainty. Which do you fear most, living or dying? Tick, tick, tick…..

(Little vignette from new book – enjoy!)

Wrong jungle?

By admin

“A leader is one who climbs the tallest tree, surveys the entire situation and yells -wrong jungle!” Stephen Covey

As a business are you in the wrong jungle – do you need to redefine and reposition your business to give you uniqueness in the current challenging environment?

As a person are you doing what you love or settling for mediocrity in the “safe” job?

As a Leader are you making sure that your new vision incorporate the dreams and values of your team? Are you creating a corporate culture that allows people to tap into their innate potential?

And finally ….Happy New Year to all my clients and friends in South East Asia.
