Research shows that the biggest influence in an employees career is his/her direct manager.
The need for visionary CEO’s?
That is why though a visionary CEO is important, it is equally if not more important that you have leaders working at all levels of the organisation. To many employees the CEO is a figurehead that has little or no influence on their life unlike their line manager.
Managers=Leaders
In the new organisation, managers are leaders. In the ideal world we want managers to inspire their direct line, to excite them about the company mission, to leverage their ideas and energy, to lead them to the next level in their career, and so on.
Celebrity CEO’s are becoming a thing of the past, being replaced by congruent leadership at all levels.
