“Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.”
Aristotle
“Yesterday is but a dream, tomorrow but a vision. But well lived today, makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow, a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day.” Proverb

Tom Cruise: “We want the truth. We deserve the truth”
Jack Nicholson: “You want the truth? You can’t take the truth!”
–A Few Good Men
Do you as a Leader/ Manager/Team member want to hear the truth?
According to a Rutgers and
University of
Connecticut poll in 2002 58% of workers believed that most top executives placed their own interest ahead of the companys, and that only 33% of their bosses had the firms best interests at heart. Accepting these findings, it is hard to see these executives empowering or inspiring their team.
Is that the truth?
In one study conducted by Bain and OC, eighty per cent of executives believed they were doing a great job serving the customer – only eight per cent of customers agreed!
Are you avoiding the truth?
Without doubt only the truth will set you and your organisation free.

“For disruptive behaviour at the judo school, Budhia Singh was told to run around a small dirt track at the back of the hall for punishment….
His teacher forgot about him and was amazed to find him still running several hours later.”
This was how the prodigeous talent of Budhia Singh was discovered.
Eighteen months ago, he became the youngest person to run a marathon at the tender age of three. Last year, he set a record a new record when he ran forty miles in seven hours.
This inspirational story was reported in the Sunday Times at the weekend.
Oftentimes we run away from pain instead fo facing it full on and revealing the jewel within. If you want to follow your dream, you must be willing to face, feel and learn from pain to get you to the next level.
If you want your organisation to survive and thrive in the current challenging environment, you must be able to embrace fear, the unknown; celebrate, not vilify failure, learn from the most annoying of sources, and so on. Enjoy the trip!

“I start with the premise that the function of Leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers.” Ralph Nader
The New Leader develops Leaders at all levels of the organisation, allowing people to tap into their innate potential and leverage for many their Leadership ability.
Be it on the pitch, or in the house as a parent, everyone plays the Leadership role at some time of their life – most executing this role with effortless ease.
A corporate culture that can nurture this Leadership undertone is a winning culture.

Recently reviewed an interesting experiment conducted by Robery Cialdini of Arizona State University. The team were looking at ways at encouraging hotel guests to recycle their towels during their trip.
Guests were given one of three reasons why they should chose to recyle on a card placed in their room:
1. For the sake of the environment.
2. For the sake of future generations.
3. Because the majority of guests did so.
The later, a form of peer pressure turned out to be the most successful strategy – 30% more effective than the other options.
