The difference that makes the difference!

Without doubt as choice explodes but similarities abound, the little difference that can make the difference has never been more important!

I was speaking to a lady recently who related the following story about her favourite restaurant. On one occasion, she asked the Manager for the ingredients of the one of their sauces. The Manager refused politely. When she was leaving that evening, he ran up to her with a little package - inside it was a container of the sauce. She told me that this story has been repeated to many, many people.

So the question is what is your difference that makes the difference?

What is your unique selling point that grabs the imagination of your target audience?

What allows you to stand out in the crowd?

As mentioned on a past entry, in 1990 I read a story which suggested that that the average person was hit with three thousand marketing messages a week? Can you imagine what that number is now? Of course the number is irrelevant - what is important to remember is that for your marketing message to be retained, it has to be different.

Work on your differences today!
