"Think where mans glory most begins and ends, and say my glory was I had such friends."
William Butler Yeats
The importance of friendship in the workplace has been highlighted in recent research published by the Manchester Evening News.
Research among 1,000 adults found that seventy five per cent said good relationships with workmates was the main reason they enjoyed their job with fifty per cent highlighting financial rewards.
Interestingly, the unhappier someone was at work, the more likely it was that they blamed the level of their salary.
Happier workers are more productive thus it is imperative that Leaders/HR departments focus on building happier communities within the workspace.
